Mole Calc is a free molecular calculator that is designed to calculate the molecular weight of any specified formula. This lightweight application is very easy to manage. The user interface, which is rather simple, features two boxes: the first one is for us to introduce the technical chemical name of an element. The second one will display the molecular weight. This calculator is able to recognize all the formal names of the elements from the periodic table, which was originally created by the Russian scientist Dmitri Mendeleev. In addition to the name of a single element, it is also possible to introduce compound formulas.
The user interface itself does not contain a help guide. There is a FAQ section at the developer's website that describes graphically how this calculator works. This program is available in two languages: English and French. In my opinion, the user interface is rather small. It is possible to maximize/minimize this calculator, but it cannot be resized. The main advantage about this program is that it is delivered free of charge. Mole Calc runs under the following operating systems: Windows Vista, XP, NT, ME, 2000, 98, and 95.
